Bollywood celebrities attends Yugpurush play based on life of Mahatma Gandhi on the eve on Independence Day

Makers of Yugpurush organized their play on the eve of Independence Day for Bollywood celebrities on Tuesday in Mumbai. Bollywood celebrities like Anu malik, Satish Kaushik, Poonam Dhillon, Saroj Khan, Shabana Azmi, Anees Bazmee, Abbas-Mustan attended the play.

Here's what they had to say about the play -

Subhash Ghai - I am really glad that my institute Whistling Woods has been associated in organizing this play for the audience. It's not just a play it's a thought provoking journey which teaches us a lot. We cannot appreciate the efforts of Mahatma Gandhiji who has worked for the building of our nation. I feel, more play like this should be written and made in India . I want to congratulate entire team of this play who are spreading teachings of Gandhiji around the world through this play.

Anu Malik - I am very excited to watch this play on Mahatma Gandhiji's life. I have been huge admirer of Gandhiji from the beginning. Yugpurush is something so exciting which tells us who influenced Gandhiji. I have heard so many good things about this play so I am really looking forward to watch it.

Poonam Dhillon - I was eager to see this play from very long period of time. I am looking forward to see journey of Mahatma Gandhi through this play. The makers of the show has hosted more than 800 shows of this play till now so I feel, there is no doubt that this play will be really good which will touch heart of audience.

Shabana Azmi - This play has been well appreciated and successful and I have been attached to theatre so it's a really good feeling when a play like this appreciated from all corners. This show started in November last year and till now it has completed 806 shows so it automatically increases curiosity of the play. I feel, Mahatma Gandhi was tallest leader of our country and today we need to remember Gandhiji as it encourages and teaches us to do better in our life and for our country so I am looking forward to see this play.

Anees Bazmee – I want to congratulate team of Yugpurush . They are doing outstanding work. We all are familiar with Gandhiji's thoughts but I feel this kind of effort should be watched by more and more people. I feel, we should follow the path that Gandhiji has shown us and contribute towards development our country. I have read many book on the life Gandhiji and whenever I read about him, I think , I have become much better person than earlier.

"Yugpurush-Mahatma ke Mahatma" highlights the spiritual bond between Gandhi and Shrimad Rajchandra and the transformation of Gandhi from an ordinary lawyer to a visionary global leader inspired by his guru's principles of truth and nonviolence. Gandhi, in turn, inspired many other global leaders to follow the path of universal truth, selflessness, peace and nonviolence in fostering positive political, economic and social change in the world.

It is directed by Rajesh Joshi and written by Uttam Gada with music by Sachin-Jigar.

The cast includes Parhasarthi Vaidya playing Rajchandra, with Pulkit Solanki playing the role of young Gandhi and Nilesh Joshi playing the older Gandhi.
