Whistling Woods International officially kicked off its much-awaited Celebrate Cinema 2024 festival with an inspiring inaugural session led by the visionary filmmaker Subhash Ghai. The three-day festival promises to bring together industry stalwarts, aspiring filmmakers, and cinema enthusiasts to delve into the world of films, creativity, and storytelling.Speaking on the event, Subhash Ghai said, “The festival we are doing in Whistling Woods, its name is Celebrate Cinema…we do it every year and it has been done since 12 years… we have 50-60 workshops running…screening, masterclasses, panel discussion, workshops.. so many things are there for the students to learn in this 3-day festival… I have been a student of cinema, studied in FTII…I have struggled a lot… I have seen other strugglers who used to come to my office and seek work, there was no platform for them in Mumbai… Whatever knowledge, money or experience I have gained, with that I thought I should build a school not a studio where they can come and study and interact with the industry and gain experience …. I’m happy that our Whistling Woods has completed 17 years and our 3,500-4,000 students are working outside…”
