Celebrating Poetry & Music in Indian Cinema at Whistling Woods International

In a memorable gathering at Whistling Woods International, some of the most revered voices of Indian cinema came together for a captivating panel discussion titled “Celebrating Poetry & Music in Indian Cinema.” The session featured legendary lyricist Gulzar Sahab, noted playwright and director Salim Arif, and celebrated filmmaker as well as Chairman & Founder of WWI, Subhash Ghai. The conversation was expertly moderated by acclaimed lyricist Kausar Munir.


The panel delved into the intricate relationship between poetry and music in Hindi cinema, drawing from the rich creative experiences of the distinguished speakers. Gulzar Sahab, whose timeless verses have shaped generations of Indian cinema, shared his profound insights alongside Salim Arif and Kausar Munir, whose contemporary sensibilities continue to redefine film lyricism today.
