Satish Kaushik taught me how to laugh at myself: Subhash Ghai
Satish Kaushik is fondly remembered by his close friends in Bollywood as the man who made everyone laugh. The late actor was humorous in front of the camera and beyond it too.
"He was always a friend to me more than anything else. We would always cheer each other up in our crisis and laugh at it. Satish taught me how to laugh at myself," shared filmmaker Subhash Ghai, who had collaborated with the late actor for multiple projects.
Reminiscing about his first meeting with Satish Kaushik, the filmmaker shared, "My good friend Shekhar Kapur introduced me to Satish as his assistant director and praised him as 'a boy hungry for cinema'." Speaking about their journey ahead, he added, "When I was directing 'Meri Jung', I would meet him with Anil Kapoor. I found he had a great sense of humour and cast him as Kashiram in 'Ram Lakhan'. That's when I found out that he had a great bonding with Anupam and Anil. That's how Satish and I came closer and since then we have been as close as we were in 'Ram Lakhan'."
Subhash Ghai went on to produce Satish Kaushik's directorial 'Shaadi Se Pehle' with Akshaye Khanna and Suniel Shetty, as well as Anil Kapoor's 'Badhaai Ho Badhaai'. "Satish was a person whose love and integrity was always for the good, you could never doubt him as a person," concluded Ghai.
