Subhash Ghai mourns Dharmendra, recalls his warmth and humility: “Hamare dil me sada zinda hai”

Veteran actor Dharmendra, one of Indian cinema's most iconic and beloved stars, passed away on November 24 at the age of 89. As the industry and nation mourn the loss of the He-Man of Bollywood, heartfelt tributes have poured in, with filmmaker Subhash Ghai sharing a particularly emotional note remembering his cherished friend and collaborator.

Ghai, who worked with Dharmendra in the 1977 film Krodhi, shared a throwback photograph of the two and captioned it with a simple, profound message: “I LOVE YOU KHUSH RAHO”

The director went on to celebrate the late actor's pure soul and inspiring journey. "Was the only voice from his soul to everyone he met always. He praised the actor's incredible life story as a beacon of hope: "He is the greatest story of no body to a national pride in cinema n inspiration to new generations n next too." Concluding his moving message, Ghai beautifully expressed that Dharmendra's spirit will forever live on, writing in Hindi, “Dharam paa ji voh bundaa hai Jo hamare dil me sada zinda hai.”

With over 300 films to his credit, his versatile performances in classics like Sholay, Phool Aur Patthar, Satyakam, and Chupke Chupke established him as a cultural icon revered by generations.
